Shane Davis
Senior Pastor
Shane Davis has a deep passion for God and for people. He believes the church should create environments where it’s easy for individuals to begin a relationship with Jesus Christ. With that vision in mind, he started Passion Community Church—a place committed to loving and accepting people without judgment while helping them become who God created them to be.
Shane is a graduate of Mt. Zion High School and earned his Bachelor’s degree from Olivet Nazarene University in Kankakee, Illinois, where he played both baseball and basketball for four years. He went on to serve as a graduate assistant for the men’s basketball team while earning his Master’s Degree in Teaching.
After sensing God’s call to full-time ministry, Shane and his wife, Jennifer, moved to Louisville, Kentucky to attend The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. During that time, he also worked as a teacher and coach at Evangel Christian School.
Shane began his ministry as a youth pastor in Marion, Illinois, and later served at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Decatur, Illinois starting in 2002.
Shane and Jennifer were married in 1993 and have three children: Drew, Alli, and Sage. Drew and his wife, Geena, live in Kankakee, Illinois with their two children, Miles and Amelia. Alli and her husband, Matthew Carpenter, live in Colorado Springs, Colorado with their son Callahan. Sage and his wife, Brooke, live in Springfield, Missouri.
In his free time, Shane enjoys working out, playing golf, and cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals and the Fighting Illini.
